About Us

Our team at Center for Survivors is committed to helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing the services they need. Center for Survivors believes that domestic violence, sexual assault, child/elder abuse, dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking are public health issues creating serious problems within our society and community. The systematic infliction of physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse is one of the most prevalent, yet least reported crimes in America. These acts of violence affect millions of individuals regardless of their race, socioeconomic status, educational level, religious belief or sexual orientation.

Center for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Survivors, commonly referred to as Center for Survivors, was incorporated on February 21, 1990 as a non-profit agency. It began as a volunteer agency started by Jamie Snyder, Rosemarie Heinisch, and Linda Cattau, and was housed in an old home, which served as both the main office and emergency shelter. Today, Center for Survivors is a fully-funded organization that employs more than 20 people who serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Center for Survivors is a proud recipient of Columbus Area United Way partner agency funding. We are grateful for their continued financial support and recognition of the tremendous need to serve victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

Our mission is to advocate for non-violence through intervention, education, and prevention in order to create a safe environment for all individuals, families, and communities.
